Today we’re introducing Ezra Farmer, a life-long resident of Clementon. He recently graduated high school, and had been working at a local farm when he stopped in this past spring to fill out a job application. He began working here shortly thereafter.
Ezra’s been with us for only three months, but his Bringhurst experience goes back to when he was just a kid. “I always thought it was neat to come in here because you could look through the windows and see everything going on in the back” he remembered. Now he works in that same area into which he used to peer: the wrapping department. ”There’s a lot to learn. I didn’t know there were so many cuts of meat. Just learning to recognize all the different types of roasts took a while.” When asked if anything about his job was unexpected, he explained: “It was so surprising... |
...(continued) when I first started. I had never worked in this type of environment before. I wasn't expecting anyone to be mean or anything, but it was surprising how nice and friendly everyone is. When I was new and didn't know how to do anything, I needed help all the time, and everyone was always ready and willing to help. Now, months later, it's still the same way. It's really just a great place to work.”
We asked Ezra what the one thing is he wants people to know about Bringhurst Meats. He answered “How fresh everything is. It's one of the first things people who’ve never been here before notice.”
When he’s not at Bringhurst, Ezra likes working on his ’95 Jeep, listening to all different genres of music, and playing his guitars (both acoustic and electric). He’s done some songwriting, too, so we asked him to come up with a Bringhurst jingle. So if you see him in the store, ask him how that jingle is coming along!
